The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

"Be prepared” means to be ready for any big or small situation that happens in one’s life by knowing what to do when certain circumstances come.

"Do a good turn daily" means to do something good for the community and help others whenever you get the opportunity, without necessarily expecting something in return.
